OUR FOUNDERS
Meet Alicia, Yasmin & Lauren
Barre Nation was born out of a desire to create a space that brings together movement, mindfulness and community, right here in the heart of the Lower Blue Mountains.
As long-time lovers of Barre, Pilates and Yoga, we set out to build the kind of studio we always dreamed of: purpose-designed, with a flexible timetable, a premium environment, a variety of class styles, and instructors who truly inspire.
As local friends and busy mums, we know how important it is to carve out time for yourself, prioritise your wellbeing, and stay connected to those around you. We wanted to bring all of that together in one space - where you can feel supported, seen and strong.
We are so proud of the community that’s grown within these walls. You'll still find us in the studio regularly - setting our own wellness goals and showing up alongside you - so come and talk to us, we’re always open to feedback and fresh ideas as this is your space as much as ours.

Instructor - Barre, Mat & Reformer Pilates & Yoga
Dolce started ballet at the age of five which continued into a career, later working as a professional dancer. Dolce then became a dance teacher and choreographer, working across Australia and abroad, including being a registered ballet teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance since.
Dolce has been teaching Pilates for many years before expanding her training to Yoga in 2020. In 2022, Dolce became Barre and Reformer trained. Her holistic experience across all workout styles and techniques allows for an engaging and dynamic workout where you’ll leave feeling better than when you walked in!

Studio Manager | Instructor - Barre, Mat & Reformer Pilates
Emma’s passion for movement started at a young age through her love of dancing and private reformer which aided her ability to dance ongoing. Emma has built this passion into teaching and for a number of years now has taught dance, Pilates, Reformer & Barre.
Emma’s philosophy emphasises mindful movement, body awareness, and an empowering environment for all levels.
Whether in the studio or behind the scenes Emma is committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive community dedicated to health and wellness.

Instructor - Barre & Yoga
Due to her love of dancing and movement, Megz completed her Barre Instructor training in 2021 and also has qualifications in pole dancing and aerial fitness. Megz believes body movement allows you to express yourself, reduce stress, and improve self-esteem and cognitive function. Megz loves teaching because she loves sharing her passion - body movements have benefitted her so much in her life and she wants other people to experience that. Her bubbly personality means for a fun class that will keep you coming back for more!

Savanah discovered the life-changing power of Pilates through her own journey and has experienced firsthand the incredible impact it can have on both physical and mental health. What began as a personal practice at Barre Nation soon became a passion, leading her to train in Barre, Mat and Reformer so she could share that same transformation with others. Savanah loves to challenge her clients and thrives on seeing their growth and development from class to class. Expect spicy workouts that push you in all the right ways, plenty of encouragement when it counts, and a few laughs along the way. Her classes are designed to leave you feeling stronger, more confident, and deeply connected to your body.

Our dynamic and vibrant Pilates instructor, Jess, infuses every session with energy and diversity. Jess discovered her passion for pilates at 18 while pursuing a full time dance performing arts program. Drawing from her background as a professional dancer, she skillfully blends elements of balance, flexibility, strength and mind-body connection into her pilates sessions. You’ll emerge from her classes feeling empowered and motivated.

Instructor - Reformer Pilates
Drawing on 16 years of dance experience, Hannah blends strong technique with athletic, feel-good movement in every Pilates class. With a personal passion for sport, fitness, and weight training, she creates spicy, challenging classes that are easily adaptable to every individual. Hannah's positive energy and encouraging spirit foster a supportive environment, pushing clients to reach their potential, build strength, and feel confident in their bodies.

Instructor - Reformer
Emily grew up competing in cheer and dance which sparked her lifelong passion for movement, fitness, and body awareness.
Emily is a certificated reformer instructor and she believes that Pilates is just as powerful for the mind as it is for the body - helping you build strength, find balance, and move with intention.
In her classes, you can expect deep stretches, smooth flows, and a satisfying burn that leaves you feeling stronger and empowered.

Courtney is a lifelong mover and athlete, including a former professional dancer, marathoner, and current Premier All-Ages footballer. She discovered her passion for Pilates at 18 years old whilst recovering from injury and is now an APPI-certified Mat and Reformer Instructor. With over 20 years of personal practice and a deliberate career transition from a decade as a global People & Talent executive, Courtney believes Pilates is the most sustainable form of movement - building strength, restoring balance, and supporting both mental and physical wellbeing. Her classes are programmed with considered purpose and intention, drawing on her diverse experience to ensure you are challenged with myriad options, move with greater precision, and leave feeling stronger and better for having practiced.

Emma is a professional dancer and movement teacher of many kinds and loves sharing her knowledge of the body through teaching Mat/Reformer Pilates and Barre. She is a firm believer that movement is for everyone, no matter how much experience you’ve had. Emma’s classes are welcoming, fun and challenging yet rewarding. You will leave her class feeling refreshed and ready!

It has given her the tools to find healing, forgiveness, and a more profound connection to herself. Michaela’s classes offer a warm and nurturing flow that cultivates both physical and mental well-being; creating a space so you can connect with yourself and find contentment on the mat.

An avid dancer for over 20 years, Natalie loves sharing her passion for creative movement and self expression through her teaching of dance and pilates. She gained her dance teaching credentials from the Australian College of Dance and has enjoyed creating classes that support growth and love of movement for a variety of age groups and abilities. As a certified Reformer and Pilates instructor Natalie offers classes with a supportive and encouraging environment, challenging your strength and endurance while you gain skills and confidence!

Hannah discovered Pilates five years ago and hasn’t looked back since. After falling in love with the practice, she swapped a career in fashion to become a full-time Pilates instructor, specialising in both Mat and Reformer. Her classes are thoughtfully designed with functional movements that are progressively layered to suit all levels - helping you strengthen, lengthen and tone your body. Expect full-body flows paired with an upbeat playlist to keep you moving and motivated. Hannah’s classes strike the perfect balance of challenge and fun, leaving you feeling strong, empowered, and buzzing with endorphins.
