Our Founders.

We are so excited to bring our Lower Blue Mountains community, Barre Nation! 

As Barre, Pilates and Yoga lovers, Barre Nation is everything that we have ever wanted in a studio - it’s purpose-designed, has a flexible timetable, offers the best instructors with a great variety of classes, and has a premium & beautiful environment.

As local friends and busy Mums, we know the importance of taking time for yourself, prioritising your wellbeing and connecting with your community, so we wanted to bring all this together through our experiential studio - making Barre Nation a destination for all things health and wellbeing.

We want you to connect with our space and are always open to feedback and ideas so you’ll see us striving to offer the most important things for you.

    Leah

    Studio Manager / Instructor - Mat and Reformer Pilates

    Leah has qualifications in both Mat and Reformer Pilates and is passionate about mind-body connection through a combination of traditional and fusion Pilates, leaving you feeling longer, leaner and stronger. Leah focuses on an increased appreciation for your body and has an inclusive style- finding ways to challenge everyone in their own way. Leah’ favourite thing to do is to work on those tiny muscles you didn’t know existed, through endurance exercise that gives that spicy burn.

    Cat

    Instructor - Yoga

    Cat has been practising yoga for over 10 years and has experience teaching a variety of styles including Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin and Yoga Nidra. Cat’s classes focus on correct alignment, moving with the breath and with her training in trauma informed yoga, Cat specialises in creating a safe and comfortable space for all bodies and abilities. Cat was born and raised in the Blue Mountains and as an active mum of two girls, she uses yoga as a way to remain strong, focused and calm.

  • Dolce

    Dolce

    Instructor - Barre, Mat & Reformer Pilates & Yoga

    Dolce started ballet at the age of five which continued into a career, later working as a professional dancer. Dolce then became a dance teacher and choreographer, working across Australia and abroad, including being a registered ballet teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance since. Dolce has been teaching Pilates for many years before expanding her training to Yoga in 2020. In 2022, Dolce became Barre and Reformer trained. Her holistic experience across all workout styles and techniques allows for an engaging and dynamic workout where you’ll leave feeling better than when you walked in!

    Instructor - Barre, Mat & Reformer Pilates

    Emma’s passion for movement started at a young age through her love of dancing and private reformer which aided her ability to dance ongoing. Emma has built this passion into teaching and for a number of years now has taught dance, Pilates, Reformer & Barre. Emma finds these classes so rewarding for the mind and body and loves a class with fun, flow and plenty of burn.

    Emma is a professional dancer and movement teacher of many kinds and loves sharing her knowledge of the body through teaching Mat/Reformer Pilates and Barre. She is a firm believer that movement is for everyone, no matter how much experience you’ve had. Emma’s classes are welcoming, fun and challenging yet rewarding. You will leave her class feeling refreshed and ready!

    Instructor - Barre, Mat & Reformer Pilates

    With over 15 years experience as a professional dancer and fitness instructor, Jessica has always been very passionate about the health and wellness industry, and as a certified Pilates and Reformer instructor, her mission is to support and empower you through movement to reach your fitness goals.

    In Jess's class you can expect a full flowing workout that embodies Strength, Balance, flexibility and kinaesthetic awareness.

    Karen

    Instructor - Mat & Reformer Pilates & Yoga

    Karen had been practising Yoga for over 20 years before completing her Yoga and Mat Pilates teacher training in 2021. Karen deeply believes that through movement and breath, we can build awareness of the body, and gain insight into our emotional and mental states too. She hopes to share this in her classes by creating a space where mindful, purposeful movement can be used to find clarity, gain insight, relieve stress or give a moment of reprieve. Her classes are light-hearted and delivered in a way where each individual can build their practice based on where they are on any given day.

    Larissa

    Instructor - Yoga

    Larissa is a proud Wiradjuri Yinaa Woman and is Blue Mountains born & raised. After growing her family, Larissa now has 10 children and really understands and connects with the importance of strength and movement for your body, hence falling in love with Yoga and Pilates. Larissa wished to grow a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of yoga and so travelled to Bali recently to train for a month.

    Instructor - Barre, Mat & Reformer Pilates & Yoga

    Linda has been teaching Yoga, Pilates and Reformer for over 10 years across the Penrith and Blue Mountains areas. She prides herself on her ability to optimise the way you move and through her specialist training in pre/post natal, Linda is able to welcome anyone and everyone, assisting with the right variations for your body and mind.

    Megz

    Instructor - Barre & Yoga

    Due to her love of dancing and movement, Megz completed her Barre Instructor training in 2021 and also has qualifications in pole dancing and aerial fitness. Megz believes body movement allows you to express yourself, reduce stress, and improve self-esteem and cognitive function. Megz loves teaching because she loves sharing her passion - body movements have benefitted her so much in her life and she wants other people to experience that. Her bubbly personality means for a fun class that will keep you coming back for more!

    Yoga has been a life-changing experience for Mihaela that has allowed her to explore the depths of self-discovery and reflection. It has given her the tools to find healing, forgiveness, and a more profound connection to herself. Michaela’s classes offer a warm and nurturing flow that cultivates both physical and mental well-being; creating a space so you can connect with yourself and find contentment on the mat.

    Instructor - Mat & Reformer Pilates

    Sharon is a Blue Mountains local and Mum to two girls and has recently completed her Pilates training, in both reformer and Mat Pilates. With an interest in Kids and Teen Yoga, Sharon enjoys supporting and encouraging people on their fitness journey. Sharon’s classes focus on building strength and confidence, all within a fun and relaxed environment - taking advantage of the short break from our busy lives that a class provides.
