FAQS

How do I book a class?

The easiest way to book a class is via our app! Once bookings open (two week’s prior), simply log in to Momence, or open our app, and next to the class you wish to attend, there is a ‘book’ button. We recommend purchasing a membership for the most value.

Do you have a class cancellation policy?

Yes! It’s something we ask you to be mindful of. If you can’t make it to class, please let us know with at least 12 hours’ notice before 12pm, and 4 hours’ notice after 12pm, so that members on the waitlist can attend. If you are attending a one-on-one or duet session, we need at least 2 hours’ notice of cancellation.

When does the 14-Day Trial Passes Expire?

There is a six month expiry from time of purchase. Your 14 day trial will be activated from the date you attend your first class. If you have tried booking in a class earlier than your activation date, it will ask you for a payment, so please ensure that you are booking the earliest date you will attend, first.

How do I manage my classes on a computer?

If you don’t have our app, you can login or register to our Barre Nation site through the link here.

Can I bring my baby to class?

Babies are able to attend our 'Child Friendly' classes, as noted on the timetable. A reduced class size will accommodate a play pen inside the studio and we ask that babies from 6 weeks onwards attend. For babies attending our child friendly reformer classes, we ask that they be strapped into a pram for safety - we don’t want them to hurt their little fingers in the machine!

Are there change room facilities?

Yes! You’ll find change room facilities for use pre or post workouts, located behind the studio. The change room is always locked, accessible with a code. We’ve also equipped the change room with facilities to help you touch up before carrying on with your day, like a hair straightener, blow dryer, cold towels and other amenities.

Is there shower facilities?

Yes, we do have a shower located next to our toilet and we ask you to please bring your own towel when using the shower. It’s available for use during our operating hours and is equipped with aesop shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

Is there a time limit for using the shower?

We kindly ask all users to be considerate of others and keep their shower time to a reasonable duration, especially during peak hours.

How often is the shower facility cleaned?

The shower facility is cleaned regularly to maintain hygiene standards. However, we kindly ask all users to respect the space and clean up after themselves to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone.

Is there parking?

The Blaxland IGA carpark has plenty of parking spaces and there are also some spots on Station Street. Our studio is easily accessible by public transport, with a bus stop on the GWH, and Blaxland train station within a short walking distance.

Do you cater for beginners?

Of course! Our amazing instructors offer modifications for all levels, so you’re guaranteed to have a version that works for you. If you find that you need to take a rest, please take as many as you need - we were all beginners once. We also offer a number of 'low-impact' classes which is a great option for beginners. For our Reformer first-timers - we recommend taking 6 Foundation classes to familiarise yourself with the machines before progressing to a Signature class.

What should I wear to class?

We recommend comfortable activewear or gym-appropriate clothing that you can move freely in. You don’t need shoes as you’ll be practicing barefoot on a mat (for mat classes), or socks if you wish. If you are practicing Reformer, we kindly ask that you wear socks for hygiene reasons and recommend wearing grip socks to stop you from slipping. If you don’t have any grip socks, we have some for sale in the studio!

Do I need to bring anything?

Just yourself! We provide all mats and equipment, although you might like to bring a small towel and water bottle for when things get a little spicy, especially our sweat classes!

How long before class should I arrive at the studio?

Our instructors will open the doors approx. 15 minutes before class starts so you can relax, stretch and soak in the beautiful space before hitting the mat or reformer.

What if I’m late to class?

We like to kick things off on time. Our instructors have a responsibility to ensure that everyone warms up properly and gets the most from their time with us. However we understand that sometimes things don’t go to plan, and if you are within a few minutes late, we ask that you enter discreetly and await guidance from the instructor. Unfortunately, if you are more than 5 minutes late, you may be denied entry and be subject to a late penalty fee, but this is up to the instructor.

Do I need to let my teacher know ahead of time if I’m injured?

If you have any pre-existing conditions or new to exercise, please let your instructor know prior to class so we can modify movements. We want to ensure you are still getting the most out of every class, but safely of course.

Can I claim my membership or private appointments on my health insurance?

In 2019 a number of health funds changed their cover and no longer cover Pilates in their extras packages unless delivered by a Physiotherapist, it’s best to check with your health fund as each are different and have different requirements.

Can I attend a class while pregnant?

Yes! Please advise your instructor that you are pregnant prior to class so that they can provide you with the necessary variations to keep bub safe. If you are 25 weeks pregnant or more, we ask that you get clearance from your doctor and we'd need a copy of the certificate. For our postpartum ladies, you're welcome back to class from 6 weeks with your doctor's clearance certificate.

How does the waitlist work?

Our waitlist function allows you to reserve a spot in a full class. If a spot opens up in a full class, the system will automatically book the first person on the waitlist. If the first person’s payment method fails or their membership has exceeded the weekly limit, the system will move to the next person on the list. You can check your position on the waitlist via the app. If you are successfully booked from the waitlist, you will receive an SMS confirmation. If there are still available spots 1 hour before the class starts, we will notify everyone on the waitlist simultaneously, and the fastest responder will get the spot.

We recommend double-checking the app before heading into the studio.

Do you accept Fitness Passport?

Unfortunately, we do not qualify to be part of their program as we are a boutique studio.

Do you offer corporate retreat days?

This is something that we will be offering in the near future. Please email us should you have an enquiry.

Have another question? Email us and we will respond as soon as we can (Mon-Fri).
